I can remember when the NBA All-Star game was a great event. Certainly a can't miss venture in the days of three stations and no remote control.
That is no longer the case. The game goes on, but with less interest than ever. Something more is needed to make things interesting and no, I'm not talking about gambling.
A friend of mine has come up with the answer. Click here to check it out if you are any kind of sports fan at all.

Funny. I had the odd thought yesterday (all of my thoughts are odd, come to think of it. Funny.) that when playing pickup games as an adult, we dispensed with the public humiliation of the "draft."
It never occurred to us as kids, probably because inflicting and receiving humiliation is the defining feature of childhood and it would spoil all the fun, but as adults, the two captains simply went off to the side and held the "draft" in secret.
How humane. How un-human.
