Secular Academics?

Not as much as you might think. A few interesting nuggets from this study. "Born-again" Christians make up almost 20% of the professoriate, but only 1% at elite institutions. Only 69% of professors at "religiously affiliated universities" claim a belief in God. Pretty interesting stuff.

31% of the faculty at religiously oriented universities are agnostic or atheist? I think that's cool. Theists should learn to roadtest their arguments. It's a cold cool world out there.

31% of the faculty being theists in, um, mainstream universities would be a very good thing, too. Since 90% of Americans believe in God, it would be good that agnosticals and atheisticals put their arguments to the same sort of test.
