My good friend Randy Boyagoda has an Op-Ed in the NYT on the just-named Nobel Laureate
Orhan Pamuk. Pamuk is a Turkish writer who explores conflicts between East and West, Islam and modernity, and so on. But as Randy notes, Pamuk's real value is as a writer who explores the longings and tensions of the human heart. Go read it and congrats, Randy!
