Obituaries 2005

This is just an utterly amazing resource to remind us of notables who passed on in 2005. Kudos to the gentleman who compiled this staggering body of work. The sheer mass of information is a wonder.

I suspect you'll want to visit this compendium a few times between now and Jan. 2. Dig in. Laugh a little, cry a little.

There's some good reading at this link. One that bothers me the most is John Spencer of L.A. Law and The West Wing. I liked the first show and avoided the second, but darn it, this guy would have been absolutely perfect for the lead if Scott Turow's Pleading Guilty had been made a film.

I get obsessed about little things and seeing John Spencer in a film treatment of Pleading Guilty is one of them. A wonderful Turow book. Underrated and undermentioned.

I absolutely loved Pleading Guilty. Even without the trapeze.

Remember that Turow's playground is Chicago and that the protagonist is overweight. So I would give it to Dzundza or Dennehy or Franz or even Belushi. Just a thought.
