The NBA and the National Anthem: tick...tick...tick...

Chillingly, lately I've been having the same thoughts as infamous left-wing commentator TourĂ©. I'll be more surprised if something doesn't hit the fan, and not just with grossly overpaid bench jockeys like Colin Kaepernick. The players OWN the NBA and commish Adam Silver has already proven he's down with the PC cause.

Is it a protest if it's institutionalized? We might see some bizarre new ritual evolve where we "honor" America and condemn it simultaneously. From The Daily Caller:
MSNBC Guest’s BOLD Prediction About The National Anthem Protests

During a Monday morning interview on MSNBC, Toure Neblett predicted that more and more athletes will begin protesting the national anthem before games.
“We are going further and further,” Neblett explained when asked if the protests will continue to escalate.
“We’re seeing lots of people, say ‘standing in our power and raising our voice is something that we feel we have to do.’ It would be unconscionable to know there’s a problem and say nothing.”

Neblett expects the support for the protests to explode “when the NBA season comes back."
Me too. The NBA is a whole different ballgame.

  1. The NFL isn't weathering these protests well, viewer numbers are down.

  2. "If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers." --Calvin (Silent Cal) Coolidge

All of which falls on the deaf ears of those who allege “systemic injustice,” which negates the premise of any natural equality: equality is a product manufactured and distributed exclusively by The State, Inc.... in partnership with the National Football League, Inc.
