Here Comes the Real News

The Cindy Sheehan story reached its official terminus a few hours ago.

I remember Krugman saying Enron would be a bigger story than Sept. 11. Enron is going to be a footnote compared to Hurricane Katrina.

  1. Well, that post was based on the then-current estimate that New Orleans was perhaps going to be destroyed. So, I think that would be quite a bit more important than Enron.

  2. "millions of dollars stolen, thousands of lives ruined." Enron? Is that Spanish for Aid to Families With Dependent Children?

  3. T, I never contended it was bigger than 9-11, just that Krugman said Enron was bigger than 9-11.

My point was that the big hurricane would be much bigger than Enron and that Krugman would look dumber than ever for having made Enron the defining story of a century.
