In my twenties I thought that caring about the characters was something you could outgrow -- that it was a thing for kids -- and possibly I'm just still childish, but I'll watch almost any movie except one where all the characters are jerks. "Best in Show" was a recent example, perhaps I didn't give it enough time but I thought all the characters were so dysfunctional that I could honestly care less. I to love movies with complex protagonists, but they must still have some admirable qualities. For example, an old favorite "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." The real protagonist is not Clint Eastwood ("The Good") but actually Eli Wallach ("The Ugly") who has a very human quality and wants to trust others even though he should know better. Anyhoo, I only watched the first season of "24" but if Bauer were compromised, they better have someone worth caring about waiting in the wings.Evanston2https://www.blogger.com/profile/09851967034946400308noreply@blogger.com
