Obama Opponents are Racist

Oh, it's on Page One of the Obama playbook. The NYT Magazine ran "The Mellowing of Bill Clinton" piece months ago:

And the man once called the “first black president” remains deeply wounded by allegations that he made racially insensitive remarks during the campaign, like dismissing Obama’s South Carolina win by comparing it with Jesse Jackson’s victories there in the 1980s.

“None of them ever really took seriously the race rap,” he told me. “They knew it was politics. I had one minister in Texas in the general election come up and put his arm around me.” This was an Obama supporter. “And he came up, threw his arm around me and said, ‘You’ve got to forgive us for that race deal.’ He said, ‘That was out of line.’ But he said, ‘You know, we wanted to win real bad.’ And I said, ‘I got no problem with that.’ I said it’s fine; it’s O.K. And we laughed about it and we went on.”

Well, Bill laughed, I guess, but it was Hillary who took it in the pantsuit.

I was a little surprised the elites and mainstream media didn't pick up on this, but the answer's obvious now---they intended to use the same slimy tactic again, this time at the real enemy, the right. If they pulled it on Bill Clinton, what chance do the rest of us have?

No doubt some people are serious in calling Obama's opponents racist, like that unfortunate puddinhead Jimmy Carter, but for the rest, it's just all part of the game.

Hey Tom, hope you don't mind be dropping by!

I agree completely that the assertion of racisim is not substantiated by any facts that I'm aware of.

Although I find the title an Unfortunate choice of words. Apparently the administration objects to Carter's assertion.

As can be seen in this AP Video, and in this LA Times article.

Regarding Wilson, I liked this quote; "I think Joe's conduct was asinine, but I think it would be asinine no matter what the color of the president," said Dick Harpootlian, who has known Wilson for decades. "I don't think Joe's outburst was caused by President Obama being African-American. I think it was caused by no filter being between his brain and his mouth."

Ben, thx for stopping by.

I haven't formally announced it yet, but after making a necessary detour to get my feet under meself at American Creation, which concerns itself with religion and the Founding, I'm beginning to get back into current political [partisan, of course] as a contributor to the Southern Appeal blog.

You'll hate it since it's conservative and mebbe even Glenn Beck territory, but you'll get to see me in action among folks I tend to agree with.

I bring the pain wherever I go.

;-)

...and you, as a thoughtful man, are kindly invited as gadfly. And is our agreement, I'll make sure you're treated courteously if you conduct yourself with courtesy, and will get your back if you're not.

[And as for your reply to the issue, I did a post at Southern Appeal that examined the transcript, and it turns out that President Obama used the word "lie" only 3 sentences before Wilson's outburst.

I don't excuse Wilson, but I think the president put the word in the air, and should not have been surprised when it received an echo...]

Tom,

You got it right here. He can do whatever he wants if you say he is wrong you are racist. It is sick.
