Dem damn Dems hammered a bolt in the coffin of the Bolton nomination.

Now it's a test of Republican gumption: will they start boltin' and runnin'?

It's actually a test of the administrations ability to comply with government rules. Will they actually accept that the Senate has an oversight role or will they continue to act as despots unable or unwilling to accept any check upon their power?

indeed although their intent is for use during long recesses not as an end run around senate oversight when they break for a couple days.

Of course the same people who rallied around "senate tradition" during the fillibuster debate will now pretend senate traditions mean nothing and presidential privelege is what actually counts.

So's the filibuster. When has legality stopped anyone from whining?

"Oh boo hoo, Bolton can't get confirmed. Now I'll just appoint him anyway."
